Welcome dinner for the new Headmaster, Howard Tuckett, hosted by Chow Tai Fook Education at the Rosewood Hotel

Wycombe Abbey School Hong Kong (WASHK) cocktail party and dinner for our Founding Headmaster, Howard Tuckett, was hosted by Adrian Cheng and Jennifer Yu Cheng of Chow Tai Fook Education at the beautiful Rosewood Hotel (TST) on Tuesday 16th April 2019.

Adrian Cheng, Advisory Board Co-Chairman of WASHK and Vice Chairman of CTF Education announced his pleasure at the launch of the new Wycombe Abbey School in Hong Kong. This introduction was then followed by William Vanbergen, Advisory Board Co-Chairman of WASHK and founder of BE Education in China, who spoke about the expansion plans of Wycombe Abbey Schools in Greater China and the remarkable background and experience of our Founding Headmaster, Howard Tuckett.

Howard Tuckett then presented the new Wycombe Abbey School design and talked about the curriculum and developmental objectives for students. He mentioned that when setting up the school, his most memorable moment was buying the new primary school library of 22,000 books. After three days of checking the book list, he found that his favorite book was missing, The Hobbit! Since then, the school has confirmed that there will be three brand new copies for students to enjoy.

The dinner celebration was topped off by a special violin performance from Paloma So, a young student from Wycombe Abbey UK. Paloma won the second prize in the ’17 and below age group’ at the 13th International Wieniawski Competition for Young Violinists in Lublin, Poland in 2015 and is currently participating in the Interlaken masterclass with Prof. Zakhar Bron.
